Porch Rail Causes Fall and Wrongful Death of Homeless Man

A local attorney heard about some of the results we were getting in personal injury cases. Therefore, he referred a client of his to us. This nice gentleman had leaned on a porch rail of a duplex and it broke causing him to fall, hitting his head. He died about six months later. The defense tried to defend the lawsuit by claiming that our client was drunk at the time of the fall. The ambulance report and the emergency room records indicated that our client had been intoxicated. However, after analyzing the medical lab reports, we discovered that his blood had been tested and the results showed there was no alcohol in the blood. The case settle quickly thereafter for just under a half a million dollars.
