In most civil matters, there is one important thing to remember, there is a time limit within which a case must be filed. This is known as the statute of limitations (SOL). The statute of limitation varies depending on the type of case. It may be as short as one year to as long as two years (which is normally calculated from the date of injury or occurrence). The important thing to remember is that if your case is not timely filed, your right to recover damages is most likely forever barred. Don’t wait, hire an attorney now!
Here is brief look at a few areas of law we practice:

Do you have minor children? Is there property to distribute? |
First, you need to decide, is this going to be a contested or an uncontested divorce? A contested divorce means you do not agree on one or more issues relating to the divorce, such as: property, alimony, assets, debts, children, support, etc. An uncontested divorce means you and your spouse have discussed the divorce and the things relating to the divorce, including custody and visitation, and you both are in complete agreement on all the terms.

Medical Malpractice – Medical negligence can occur in many different ways, including, failure to diagnose an injury, illness or condition; incorrectly performed surgery; damage to a baby or mother during delivery; failure to perform the right tests or refer to a specialist; leaving a surgical instrument or other object in a patient; medical device and/or equipment failure or malfunction and failure to monitor a patient, just to name a few. This injury can occur in the hospital or at the doctor’s office. |
Determining who to sue in a medical negligence case requires a careful review of the medical records. Normally, a patient has two years from the date of injury to file a negligence claim, however there are exceptions, such as, if a government or public owned hospital is involved, the law requires notice to be given within one year from the date of injury. It is difficult for the patient to know if a particular hospital is public or private. It is important to seek the advise of an attorney so the patient’s rights can be protected. Veteran’s Hospitals, Indian Clinics and Hospitals and other federal health care providers come under yet another set of rules and procedures. All your questions relating to a possible claim against a federal government hospital or doctor should be immediately reviewed by an experienced lawyer. , we will gladly review the medical records and meet to discuss your case.

At the , we have dealt with insurance companies and their adjusters for years and we know how to get all you deserve out of the insurance company.
The statute of limitations for automobile accidents is two years from the date of the accident.
